Live tiles refresh rates

Has the 30 minute refresh rate for Live tiles changed in 8.1? to make live tiles live it should have a refresh rate of at least 10-15 mins. i know it would affect the battery life but at least there should be option.

They have not said anything about a change in the keynote. Perhaps in other sessions, but I haven't watched them.

It's true nobody talked about it ! A lot of devs need that functionality and it would make our lives easier. At least we should be able to choose the refresh rate if its a battery issue

Watching this video from build. And if I'm not mistaken, I think he said that developers can now choose refresh rate based on what fits their app
