Not only is it not restoring backups of my texts but after the latest restore, with auto backup turned OFF, it backed up anyway without half my apps updated/installed. So now any data not stored in the cloud or on the app account it GONE since MS still has yet to allow to restore from a prior backup.

You need to be in the habit of renaming your phone, as soon as possible after a new install. This will get you past the "overwriting previous backups" issue.

Point taken. My issue is that it backed up when i set it not to. I ALWAYS turn backup off until i feel it is stable enough to run, then backup. It would be nice to have 3-4 past backups to choose from, like the PC versions.

I HAD to read your thread simply because of the word Livid. :)

I know that feeling. However, it is rarely something I experience with computer technology. (no judgement meant)
Livid.

My kids have got me there a few times. The IRS and politicians used to be able to.
But thankfully my cell phone can't. Not because I'm wise or better tempered. But because I learned to carry 2 of them. (Livid insurance L640 costs $60)

So I tried that, it still overwrote my single backup. Any tips? I started a seperate thread, but no one has replied.

Backups never worked for me

i do know that i have had to delete my backup, a few times, to perform a new one. Been that way for me since 8.1. So maybe try deleting the existing one.

Don't be livid. Like many of us you choose to jump into the deep end upgrading to an alpha version of software. I know if W10M bricked my phone today I would just buy another and restore, or start from scratch. It's that simple.
