The lock screen will always timeout after a few minutes. You can set your start screen timeout to never. I have mine set on never so i can see notifications and emails come in during the day while im at work

1. Amoled Devices might not have a never option since if never were to be selected any constant image would cause an effect known as Amoled Image burn. This is not the case in LCD because there is Liquid which can displace even though never is set.
2. Carriers/Nokia might disable it for unknown reasons .
Sorry but my Lumia 520 has the following:-
Settings>lock screen>"Screen times out after">only four options here - 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes,5 minutes. "Never" is not an option.
So, is that it, that is all I can do?
