locked out

Since upgrading to WP8.1 - My has been locked out of her Microsoft account - she only ever used it to log onto the phone - so the reset service doesn't work - as it asks for details of emails sent , stuff purchased etc -

note: forgotten password is the reason for lockout

What will she loose if she does a factory reset.....and indeed any instructions on how to do this ?
