Hello all. I am coming from a Galaxy S running Android 2.1, and wow what a learning curve to step directly to WP. I am getting most issues worked out after 4 days of having my Nokia 822 on Verizon, but this one had me frustrated.

I have metings that occur monthly on a particular day of the month, for example, the 2nd Tuesday of the month every month, and another that occurs the first and third Monday of the month, every month. It seems that every calendar I have tried defaults to the WP8 selections that do not allow a selection such as I have described. I can select for example, "every Tuesday", or "day ## of the month", ect. but no option to choose "each month on a particular weekday".

Has anyone discovered a calender that will do what I need?

I know I could make an entry for each event, but what alot of work. My old Galaxie had that option available from day one, and I just assumed WP8 would have it as well. Just like I thought I could move my browser favorites list over from my Windows Explorer on my PC, but that's been beat to death, without resolution I have discovered.

Great Forum by the way, I have learned alot just reading threads.
Thanks!!!

I use Chronos Calendar which came highly recommended. I really like the tile. That being said, I couldn't find recurring options.

However, one option that I did find was that I have my work email/calendar synced. If I use outlook on my laptop to make a recurring appt, the options you are asking for are there. That will then show up on the phone.

You can put your favorites list into one note, then just open one note on your phone and tap the link. It's not perfect but it's worked for me. Or at least did until I populated the favorites in IE over time.

Thank you so much for that. I needed an option like that

Thanks for the info on the Outlook.com calendar, looks like that will do what I need.

I must say though, what a "clunky" user interface experiance that was, trying to set up the entries. Almost like going back to the DOS days entering info. Android has it all over WP for lots of things i've tried to do so far with my 822 that was so inherantly, even intuitively easy on my Galaxy.

As I have my calendar synced to Outlook (desktop), I just create that kind of entries on my PC.

I make entries to my calendar on the go, when I don't have access to my PC, so I need a GUI that is user friendly on my WP. Sadly to say, there
doesn't appear to be one.
I am just about to throw this real nice piece of 822 hardware in the drawer, and revive my 3 year old galaxy S.

Have you tried Simple Calendar or Chronos Calendar? Especially Chronos might appeal to you.

Yes, I have tried them. They all use the resident (on the phone) setting selections for frequency. No "first Tues. Of every month" type setting available. Seems they are all crippled by Microsoft.
Some of the features or the WP8 are really slick and well done, others it seems they forgot to finish, or rather "polish". They sit in there little cubes and meeting rooms and do whatever they do there, and forget that real people are trying to actually use the stuff they are creating.
Don't really mean to be overly critical about it, but little things like this just frustrate me to no end.

Yeah, I get that this particular function is only available on the website, but for appointments that don't need to recur every <numbered> <weekday> of the month, don't those apps cut it?
