Losing battery power while charging

Hey all.
I've noticed today that while I have my phone plugged in and charging it is still slowly losing battery power when using KIK heavily.

Anyone have an explanation for this?

Are you using the wall charger, USB port on PC or car charger?

I don't know about KIK but I do know that some apps drain more power than charging puts in. On my drive to work, 1 hour commute, if I use Waze the phone loses 10% - 12% battery while on the charger.

thats because the charger on the car probably is recognized as a usb plug and not an ac charger, so it might consume way more than it can provide(500mah)
