lost all e mail

this morning something very wired happen all my e mails on the phone were gone.
I had emails from march that were on the phone. even this evening there's only 4
do you think the phone is purging its self.

were do I check that I think I might have found the problem
across the top of out inbox the word " all " is highlighted. on the same line unread flagged is there I don't think I remembered that been there. but don't know were to change it even if it belongs there.

And also check if you haven't set your phone to sync for instance, last 3 days only. Then older e-mails will not be visible.

I did check it is set for three days which I don't know how it was changed. because all the email were there before.
I did see were it would auto change if I had to many to save data and something else can't seem to find exactly want the other was.
