Lowest cost prepaid for minutes with L520 (US)

I'm trying to find a good low cost phone plan for my parent and I wanted to give them my ATT Lumia 520. Can anybody recommend a prepaid that works on ATT network that's as cheap as possible? They only need minutes and not very many of them. I was hoping I could use Tracfone, but I've read the 520 doesn't work on it. I'd prefer not to unlock the phone, but I will if it means the plan will be cheap.

That's probably what I'll go with. I was just hoping for a buy a block of minutes for a longer period of time thing. But unless there's some obscure prepaid that I'm not seeing, I guess it's not going to happen. Maybe Net10. Does anyone know anything about them or if the 520 works on it (it says it uses ATT network).

Yep. And H2O is ATT network. You can even use it for data at 10c/mb. Good plan for anyone who just wants basic service. No fees. Sims are $1 on eBay.

The next step up would be Airvoice (ATT) at $10/month.
