When your on WiFi do you still see the LTE next to the signal bars?

Yes LTE is displayed while on wifi.

LTE is NOT displayed when on a voice call... regardless of whether wifi is enabled or disabled.

I suspect a misbehaving app. I mean home users that don't use torrents or video streaming don't even do 16.7 GBs in a month!
