Hi - I have 2 questions regarding these 2 sets 1320 and 640xl
1) quadcore 1.2 vs dual core 1.7 - which will perform faster and how much windows app support quadcore vs dual core mobile processors?
2) 1320 has the battery of 3400 mAH where as 640xl will have 3000 mAH but they have different screen sizes and processors so what do you think which one is going to last longer or which one would give better battery timings?
I think any expert developer can explain these queries very well, Thanks :)

1) Quadcore will preform better to everyday tasks - web browsing, email, twitter, facebook and dualcore MAYBE in games due to the slightly better GPU

2) 640XL has smaller screen real estate and lower energy consuming SoC; it sips battery on standby. The old Snapdragon S4 is a beast but a hungry beast. I say it would be on par, but you will get added benefits with the newer device and a few extras like SensorCore etc

Personally I would go with the 640XL. In fact I am debating ditching my Icon for the dual sim LTE version

You aren't worried about the Snapdragon 400/1GB feeling slow coming from the 800/2GB in the Icon/930? I notice "Resuming..." much more on anything without 2GB RAM. I'm debating not getting the 640XL (which is super appealing) and going with the 930.

+++ Honestly?! We won't know for sure until somebody does a benchmark comparing performance of the two phones. What we can do is speculate for now. I think performance will be almost the same, I think the gain is multi-tasking since 640XL will have quad-core compared to dual-core for the 1320. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

+++ Again, you are asking too early. Hold your horses and wait until somebody reviews battery life. What I would guess is that 640XL will have battery life since it is a new device and MS should have done power optimization. It's just a guess but still hoping.

+++ Hope this helps and please be patient its almost April : )

1) For normal use, shouldn't make a major difference.

2) The 1320 did last a while, but regarding the 640 XL, I don't think we can really say yet considering it isn't out yet? Or at the very least hasn't seen significant battery testing.

They do have other differences like in camera and other things.

Well the 1-2 seconds (at most) waiting far outweighs the abysmal battery life, no glance screen, no DTTW and delayed updates that the Icon suffers right now.

I dont game on my phone, main usage scenarios is calls, sms/IM, email, Office, and social media. And the occasional Youtube/Movie. I assume the bigger screen will suit me more for my needs, plus I have big hands so it will be extra comfortable to type on the thing.

Same boat here brother. If you do, please let us know how it compares.

Will do. ETA is around late April

I totally understand, and oddly enough I have 930 coming today. I wonder if I will have the issues many have posted about. If I do, 640XL all the way! However, I am hoping I get to enjoy at least all-day battery life with the 930 and solid performance.

If you plan to use the device at it's full potential (data/wifi/bt on) and you are a moderate to heavy user with big screen on time, you will NOT get all day battery life, I guaranty it

But its camera is AMAZING

doing that with most any phone, many Androids included will destroy battery.
GSM Arena's battery tests have many phones do terrifically, but 8-10 hours of screen-on time is pretty decent for most things.

8-10 hours SoT with the Icon, while browsing, calls via BT, WiFi/Data on? HOW? That's 1520 territory

Oh what, sorry I didn't mean to imply it was the Icon, I was saying that 8-10 hours IMHO isn't quite all-day, but never mind, disregard me.

I do see Resuming on my 1520 as well. Any apps under the lock screen and left untouched for quite some time, will see the Resuming when unlock. I bet is the OS related "issue". I hope this will be gone with W10.

I have had an HTC One M8 and now have a Lumia 930 and never see "Resuming..." I do see it on my 635 often and saw it on the 830 as well.

I am debating the 64 XL still for the larger screen and longer battery life (plus LTE which I don't get on my Lumia 930 where I live).
