Lumia 1520 ghost/phantom/touch issues

Just picked up a used Lumia 1520 that has the famous touch problems. I know it's all over the forums, but I haven't found a solid fix outside of sending it in for repair (which I can't since I bought used), or opening it up and moving stuff around with the digitizer cable.

Is there a detailed video or tutorial how to go about doing that?

Re: Lumia 1520 ghost/phantom/touch issues

don't know how much you paid for it - but, for $200 you can have the digitizer replaced & have a great phone (PALCO repair), providing nothing else is wrong.

I had mine replaced thru Palco (about a year ago), very glad I did.

Some that have taken their phone apart, wish they hadn't.

Re: Lumia 1520 ghost/phantom/touch issues

Bought it used for about $60. Does it really cost that much to fix it???

The correct digitizer will go about $80 - $90.
The issues encountered after an amatuer takes it apart are all over these forums - it appears there's a lot packed in there.
For $260. you got yourself a working phone, still relevant that won't flake.
You could probably resell it for $200. in a year - with the digitizer being replaced.
The only other phone I covet is the HP Elite x3, keeping my Lumia 1520 for awhile longer.

REMEMBER ... providing nothing else is wrong.

Does the digitizer even need to be replaced though? I was thinking it just need to be aligned/adjusted correctly back into place.

yes! i've been wanting to get the 1520 since it came out. that's why i jumped on the deal...knowing in advance of the phantom touches...which i thought would be resolved by now through software...only to find it still needs to be opened up and replaced.
