It always writes out the punctuation marks, is there a setting, or a specific form needed for it to use punctuation marks?

Windows Phone doesn't support any punctuation, the exception being that it seems to automatically add a question mark to the end of anything that begins with who, what, when, where, how, or why. Aside from that. There's nothing Period (pun intended)

I've been wondering the same thing, love this feature on my note 3. But, now that its been pointed out to me that it automatically does it, I feel much better now!!!!!

The one thing it will do is insert punctuation based on the tone of your voice. Sometimes you have to really emphasise with the tone of your voice that the sentence has ended, or that you are sending a question - it will insert punctuation based on this.

Don't you think the person you are sending the text message can figure out what you mean or otherwise call or text for clarification?
