Should I buy a 1520 or 640 xl. 1520 has better specs but 640 is newer and a bit smaller. Tell me if the 640xl lags if you have it

For the price the 640XL cannot be beat. So far not many issues being reported on 640XL. Win10 should run really well on this device.

both are good but 1520 is better if you can handle it buy 1520. I think you can get 1520 a bit cheap. 640 xl is not a bad choice either

I got a 1520, I love this thing. A bit big for many but fits well in my pocket. The specs are way better than the 640. The 640 only have about half the specs of the 1520. The 640 is more of a phablet for the masses. If you still can get a 1520 go for it. I'm running Windows 10 Preview on it and it's sweet, other than the bugs of course.

I would say Lumia 1520 I just purchased the AT&t version of the Lumia 1520 and then had it unlocked. If you look around you can find one new for $330 or less.

Compared my 1520 with a friend's 640xl. The 1520 is bigger, better, faster than the 640xl. The 640xl is newer, feels cheaper, really is cheaper than the 1520.

Im not a fan of the on screen buttons too. And no pureview for the 640xl.

While the 1520 looks better on paper, I would be warry, there were lots of hardware issues with it: phantom touch, bad battery, microphone issues, etc...
I recently purchased a 640 when my 1520's battery went bad and before I replaced it - I honestly don't see anything that would warrant potentially paying more for the 1520 and taking a chance on all the issues it is known for. Except the camera maybe...
If I had to do it all over again today, I would likely grab a cheap 640XL and call it a day.

I have a 640XL but was able to buy a nearly-new unlocked AT&T 1520 for around $160 (the former owner literally used it for a day and then left it in his closet until he sold it to me -- it still had the packing sticker on the back).

It's a great device. I'd say it's actually better than my 640XL, which can get a bit sluggish and struggles a bit with RAM (it has only 1GB compared to the 2GB on the 1520). I think the biggest issue will be updating the Lumia 1520 to Windows 10 but there are plenty of guides that you can follow.

i own both the 640 XL and the 1520 (both are unlocked), I find that i keep going back to the 1520. The 640 XL is a great phone for the price and if you are looking to do a few items with it. Biggest item i find is that with the gig of memory people have spoke about here it starts to slow down with 5-6 apps open. i probably wont switch to another phone until the 950's comeout.

I'm interested in both the Lumia 1520 and the Lumia 640 XL. I was wondering which of both phones have the better battery life? That is the most important thing for me to know.

Thanks in advance :)

The 640 XL will be supported longer and doesn't have the phantom touch bug that plagues alot of 1520s. The 1520 support should be over now as its 3 years old where the 640 XL is only a year old

I know that, but I would still prefer to get the Lumia 1520. The only thing which would change my mind is battery life.

1520. The 640xl has a lower res screen. I cant go back to anything lower than full HD. I've played with the z5 premium (don't get it unless you get a bargain), the note edge and the s6edge+. All good screens, I dont think you'll see a huge difference with the 1520. However the 640xl has a big screen and lower res...
