How many of you have this feature on your 520 with the Amber update ? Or is this for the AT&T model only ? But I thought Nokia said the 520 didn't have the hardware to do this ?

They're saying that AT&T Nokia Lumia 520 is a different model with rm-915, that it has has different hardware. So yeah, this is only for the AT&T model.

I have this feature but did not notice it until I installed GDR3. Your still on Amber after the update and the manufacturer name is
RM-915_NAM_USA_228

I have it on my AT&T 520 but I find it buggy. It doesn't always wake, and I have to keep tapping. I find using the power button easier and more reliable.

It is def. more responsive on the 920 compared to the 520.

But as Shawn Magm noted in an earlier reply to this thread using the power button works just fine for me...

If you ask me I'm pretty sure that the L520 will get it in the Black update as the 525 has double tap and the only difference between the two is double the ram and black update.
