So basically here's the story: Came home from work, plugged in my charger, and when i connected it to the phone it just did a spark and now it's not charging anymore... The charging slot on my phone was very hot, smelled like burned plastic.. Has this happened to anybody else??

The phones always get hot near the camera lens while charging, but thankfully hasn't burnt up yet.

Did you try charging it with another charger? If it still doesn't charge take your phone to the nearest Nokia care

Almost certainly a capacitor or diode has blown - hence the spark and smell.

Time to get it replaced.

If phone is out of warranty, then congratulations for your new phone.

Yeah, i was actually thinking of upgrading to 830, maybe this was an omen of some sorts)

Funny thing, apparently if i hold The phone vertically and with The charging slot facing up it charges The phone...
