Italy is indeed the strongest Windows Phone market of the whole of Europe. And that goes back even to the Windows Mobile days when WM used to have a huge marketshare over there, compared to almost non existent in surrounding countries. Important note: right now Windows Phone is doing very well over there with mainly the entry level devices. You won't see lot's of Lumia 930 in Italy
