Lumia 640 sms tones issue

W10M production build 10.0.10586.420.

Changed the sms notification tone to a downloaded .mp3 file that was transferred to the phone from my pc.

Now that tone plays for all sms contacts, despite some contacts having other tones set specifically for them.

If I change the notification tone back to default, then the custom tones work.

what if you add the custom tones again for your contacts after adding the new message ringtone?

That is normal operation. Whether its intentional or not, I don't know, that's just how it is.
