I had to hard reset a Lumia 640 but I cannot sign back in. Looks like the Reset Protection was on. The error reads "Hey! Looks like your phone was reset and you didn't turn off Reset Protection. You need to enter your Microsoft account Information to continue using this phone."

I removed the phone from the account already but got no recovery Key. Is there any other way to get the recovery key.

I am using the same account to sign back in but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

The password is not the problem. When I try to sign in a message comes up saying "Could not turn off Reset Protection. Looks like we ran into a problem trying to turn off Reset Protection. Make sure you have a network connection and try again.

The amazing thing is that the phone has service and can receive calls.

Download the Windows Device Recovery Tool to reset your device. Once your device is recognized when you plug it to the pc, you can reset it. But if you phone has reset protection on, you need a recovery key. When you sign in on your Microsoft account you should be able to get it when you click on your device (if you set it up).
Hope this helps.
