Lumia 640xl - 4g access in India

I read somewhere about a software upgrade that allows devices to be 4g compatible. How can this be done? Bought the device in May 2015. TIA

Its not available for 640xl.

640XL LTE is a different device. Which will launch in india by mid November

Its not available for 640xl.

Yes the 640XL now you have in hand is a 3G device. It will be never compatible for 4G.
However the new 640XL LTE which is going to be launched will be compatible.

Is upgrade of ram possible for my 640xl? Currently at 512mb

640XL has 1Gb of RAM, there's no possibility of upgrading RAM or any hardware(other than sd card) of any mobile.
