720 is probably one of the best looking lumia's out there, i think your friends feel having a colored phone is girlish, in that case get a black/white one.

Black is Matte, white is glossy.
I've a white one and its extremely beautiful.

1 - Your friends have not seen the Lumia 720, or believe that Lumia series only comes in colors like Red, Cyan and Yellow
2 - Lumia 720 is the best phone in terms of design and specs you can get as of now
3 - If you get the 720, your friends will envy you.

Agreed for making new friends, but as for me I don't like Cyan for my phone

city lens, and other nokia premium apps, do they use net, or its available on the go, without the use of net?

Don't listen to them , get color of ur choice.

Reason why they think its girlish is because WP isn't popular.

I have a red 820 and everyone liked it so much and nobody thinks its girlish.
Infact it stands unique among all other phones having black , grey or whites

Almost all apps need data connection or wifi.

Only apps which don't need are camera apps and games

If u want , you can download maps and use them offline

And also nokia music has offline mixes , which u can download and later use them offline
