Anyone use the Lumia 800 on Straight Talk? If So, do you get 3g service? Just curious, was going to try this out, but i want to make sure I will get 3g data.

3g not 2

"According to Wikipedia, Straight Talk is on AT&T's GSM network only. IOW, no 3G."

Thats what we get for using Wikipedia. This is not true unless Edge now provides .9 - 1.8Mbps. This is what I'm getting, though on an LG C900.

This does not clarify for the Nokia, but clearly MVNO agreement with Straight Talk is indeed NOT religated to Edge, and I've not dropped below .6Mbps which is still above EDGE. Also, occasionally I will get 8 and 9Mbps for a good 5 - 10 seconds (before the Master Switch figures it out?).

This is a question of Frequency. If you have one of the ATT 3G freqs in your phone, your good to go at least at the HSDPA, I dont think Im getting HSUPA, and the HSPA+ is only a matter of time in my opinion. New to ATT so don't remember the freqs, 800/1700/2100???

I am currently getting 3G plus speeds on my Lumia 800 on straight talk. I do have the Rm 819 version of the phone. I generally avg 6-9 Mbps down and 2-3 up

Interesting. I have to ask, are you sure about this? Everything I've read suggests Straight Talk uses T-Mobile's 3G band and that AT&T phones will only work at 2G/Edge speeds.

Under the BYOD program, Straight talk gives you a choice of either a ATT or Tmobile MVNO sim card. You pick the one that will work with your phone and then you just setup the appropriate APN settings on your phone. On my Galaxy Nexus (work phone), I have peaked at 14 down and 3.6 up and peaked around 10 down and 3.7 up on my Lumia 800

I have a question for all of you who are use the L800 on Straight Talk. I have an unlocked Telus RM819 which I started using yesterday. For some reason the carrier is listed as "HOME" on the phone tile. Is this the case for anyone else, or can this be changed?

Can't be changed unless you fully unlock you device (might not be able to depending on your firmware version) so you're kinda stuck with it

OK, and one other thing. Have you been able to get MMS working? I updated to 12070 and the APN settings were removed from the diagnostic app.

ATT uses 850/1900.

I am using the Lumia 800 and get HSPA+ on Straight Talk. I am using the ATT option for Straight Talk, all is working but MMS, hope Tango / New Network Setup will finally address this issue.
