The screen faded out slowly in time now its totally black. Ill take it to service and see if warranty fill fix it

I had same problem, My Lumia 820 started with a faint shadow of blue on the right hand side & morning completely goes in black.I submit my phone at their Service center and they told me that they have send my Lumia 820 in factory for repair.

What basically happed is that your display shattered. The issues is described as "mechanical shock" and is not included in warranty. This is what basically happened to mine. You can see in the 3rd shot the point where the display shattered (the really black area).

The L820 is the only Lumia that I know of that does this. If there is the least amount of shock applied to the phone, the display is the first to go, even if the digitizer (touchscreen itself) is pristine.

"My experience with one phone entitles me to speak for all L820 phones"

My first 820 was over a year old when I finally broke the digitizer. I still have it, the screen is fine.

My second 820 has had its share of falls. Hasn't broken yet.

The truth of the matter is, gorilla glass or not, *the glass will break if landing flat, glass side down*. This is true for all phones. The 820 may not have gorilla glass, but the glass can withstand some shock at an angle.

The actual screen itself is secure, and it would take a puncture to the display to actually damage it, or a drop from a height that a phone has no business being at.

Nokia warranty said to me that it has a humidity damage on mainboard and only possible fix is to replace mainboard and charged me with 160€

i know...they are asking for 5000 bucks from me too..i just bought this phone two months back...
