Is the problem finally fixed? Can I update now and will sms and data conection work? I really like the phone but I?ve had problems with it shutting off completely and supposedly the portico update fixes that.

YES... 3G and SMS works on my White Lumia 822. Carrier: Cable & Wireless Panam?
Just use the Nokia Access Point app.

SO Version 8.0.10211.204
Firmware .1012

822 doesn't have amber yet, however you should be able to fix the issue using Nokia Access Point

Seems to work for everyone else, you may want to try a reset if the phone. How did you end up with an 822 in India?

Internet sharing is not working after amber update..... Verzion it is tooooo bad....... Every time some problem is there

I'm in Russia and internet sharing works for me. Try to activate any other acces point and then activate the right one.
