Lumia 830 main camera error on new update

Hi,

I have updated my Lumia 830 to Win 10 and it was successful. However when my device was receiving the latest app update for the Windows Camera, the update installed successfully. It showed on my device but later when I opened the app, it crashed and gave me 0xA00F424A(0xC00D3704) error and the main camera is not working ever since. I have tried using other applications such as Instagram Beta, 6Tag and Lumia Selfie but can not access the main camera. However the front camera is working. I have also tried to roll back to win 8.1 by using the recovery tool but the main camera issue remains.

Maybe we are all hoping someone figures it out....I keep coming back hoping you found a resolution...nothing I have tried has worked...so I am back on my 640. I so rather be using my 830.

Seriously frustrating. Sometimes it just works... even after the 218 update. I am wondering if some combination of Lumia apps gets this to work? I have a feeling the camera worked transitorily while I was updating store apps, and deleting unnecessary apps.

Does anyone with a Lumia 830 and Win 10 218 have a working camera? I am asking this because I also had issues with my camera with 8.1 -- didn't work for a few months and randomly started working at some point of time.

My 830 refuse to work on a couple of previous builds (both updated without restore from backup)

Once, the screen keep going green, the other instance the error message was "there is another app using the camera" (can't recall the exact words) and refuse to launch...
I had to do hard reset.
The other, was uninstall camera related apps, followed by several soft resets.. Then it was ok
... bugs!! How we love the challenges!!

.318 still no luck... Anyone has any ideas? Maybe I should start a new thread so we can make polls to gather some information, since a guest made thin one... Also a changeorg thingy, to get some attention from MS maybe...?

The camera worked for an entire day for me... before bailing out. The flashlight icon from quick actions seems to have vanished too! Strange...

Here a poll to gather data about this, I started with a "afected people" poll to see how spreaded this is. This shouldn't fade, we must fight for our rights as customers. wtf **** breaking itself...

Has anyone had any luck. None here so far. Not sure if phone is under warranty since almost a year and a half old.

No such luck. I tried updating to newest build. I tried hard-resets. I even did the recovery route, downloaded about 2GB of stuff... only to get a failure to install message. I'm stuck without the main-cam now. My year old warrantee has expired (doesn't it always happens that way!!)

In the meantime, I'm using a red 1520 given to me by my brother, which I gleeefully update to W10M.. Awesome screen real estate, still trying to adjust to the size...

My camera has been magically working for the last few days --- but I am sure it will stop if I restart! This happened once already for me -- worked for a whole week before I forgot to charge!

Hello,
I also have this concern on my 830 Slow Insider .
Durin a long phone call , my 830 has overheated. The next day the camera was not working with the quoted error message , the LED flash has also surrendered .
I'm sad because I liked the 830, I thought it was perfect for my use .
I expect a 950 , but I think one day repair 830 .

If I'm the only one posting on MS support forum they'll believe it's just an isolated hardware issue, since the 830 has camera related antecedents. So go on and report like the 430/530's users did. They also had a camera issue and it got fixed thanks to feedback. For sure it's not only about receiving feedback about an error code to be able to track it, it's also about the amount of people affected, that's what tells MS the importance of the issue.

Oh I saw the new in the feedback hub. I didn't read the name though. Cool then. Anyways, I think they are working at it. The camera team contacted me to retrieve custom feedback using the field medic app. The logs were, of course, camera specific.

I actually have an issue with the camera, or at least related to it on 8.1 Update 2. I was checking to see if an OTA upate to 10 was released when I got this update. Now, I am unable to select photos to share within the apps or even in the photo app. I tried a soft reset but it didn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Yeah, Tom contacted me and ask for some camera Data using the field medic app. So, hopefully this can be resolved.

Off topic question for you:

I see that you are using Field Medic app on your L830; what battery capacity does it show on your phone?
On my L830 (RM-984_1070, Model Code: 059W5N8) all versions of Field Medic on all versions of WPh8.1 to the last version of W10M, shows capacity as 8300, which is hilarious, so I don't trust that app
