Plenty of Lumia 830 news today. Was hoping for a bigger display on this (rumored to be even smaller than the Lumia 730), but it'll be cool to see a premium camera on a mid-range device.

Rumored announcement is September 4 at IFA (along with the Lumia 730): Microsoft IFA press event invite for September 4 may tease 'selfie' Lumia 730 reveal | Windows Phone Central

Rumored specs:

4.5 inch 720p display
20.1MP PureView Camera
SD Card Support

If it had a 5" screen it would have been perfect.

I'm with you on this. 'Tis the best candidate as an upgrade from my 620, though as a tall guy, I want something between 4.7 and 5 inches. I hope the rumoured specs is untrue on that part.

It may just be wishful thinking on my part, but that video shows the phone with 3 rows of tiles, not 2. It sure looks to me like the screen is bigger than 4.5"

I really hope so. Doesn't make much sense to me that it would be smaller than the Lumia 730's display. Then again the 820 only had a 4.3" screen.

I'd be just fine with a 4.5" screen. If the processor is even a little bit faster than the one in my 1020 and the form factor is a little smaller, this will absolutely be my next phone.

The 730's display is 4.7 including the on-screen keyboard so they're just roughly equal.

Yea; but if it announced on Sept 4 it might be Juvember the 40th before it actually makes it too stores. Sounds nice to me and would be a great replacement for my 820 (which has still not received cyan/8.1 with AT&T). Taking all this with a cow lick block of salt. Would hope they put a bigger battery in it and while the 4.5 screen is OK; a 4.7 would be nicer. Still with the trickle of phones from Microsoft/Nokia this sounds nice.

oh boy! the mid rangers are coming..this going to be a lot of fun!If that 830 will really have the 20MP Carl Zeiss i am definitely going to get one but i'm still keeping my 720 though.Cheers!

Reading the article on WPCentral today really has me thinking of a possible contender to my recently purchased 1020. If it comes with at least a 720p screen in the 4.5-4.7 region, with wireless charging, 20mp camera, and an SD slot, I just might be on board. Also an updated core would be interesting to see. Don't get me wrong I really love my 1020 and the amazing camera but a 20mp one with SD expansion would be perfect for me. I will keep my hopes in check as the cancelled McLaren already let me down this year but I like what I'm hearing.

This exactly, but for my 920. ANY processor they'd put in a midrange is going to be an improvement in both speed and battery at this point. I'd love a 4.7" screen in the same footprint as my 920, and an equivalent or better camera. Wireless charging, glance, and a prettier body than the Icon? Take my money T-Mobile!

I wish Nokia/MS wouldn't leave so much unused space above and below the screen. If they managed to shrink that then their phones would have a much smaller footprint.

I think AT&T is well aware that if there are indeed 3 variants of this phone on U.S. carriers, people would choose the ones with built-in wireless charging. I think they'll attempt to compensate for that by having exclusivity on some colors, where as Verizon and T-Mobile will probably have the basic black and white. We'll see.

This unofficial render looks beautiful. The gunmetal frame on the black is a nice touch, as opposed to black on black like with the Lumia 930.

The render looks nice, but from the leaked pics the back will be raised a little, and there is a slight camera hump.

Call me when they announce a high-end phone on AT&T. I'm not re-upping at $150 for 2 years for some mid-range phone.
