The earbuds are fantastic. Great sound quality and bass.

Most importantly, the volume rocker + middle button all work perfectly. One press = pause/play, two = next track, three = previous track

I've waited since getting my Focus in November '10 for headphone integration like this.

This and gapless playback were the biggest things I missed from my iPhone

I beg to differ. I am on my second pair of these and they are completely non-functional for anything beyond sound. What a waste of $100!

The Lumia 900 appears to have a firmware problem where it doesn't respond to inline controls when locked/asleep. The inline controls work fine if the screen is alive, but otherwise they might as well not be there!

actually, at least in my case the earphones never work regardless of the state the phone is in (asleep, awake, locked, etc)

That's also correct.

Inline controls that are designed to work with iPhones won't work with the lumia. Inline controls that are designed to work with wp7 will work when the phone is asleep only about 30% on the time.

The funny thing is, the op mentions the original focus. Any inline controls made to work with wp7 worked perfectly with this phone

Clarification, I was referring to the Nokia Lumia and the Nokia headphones, not the iPhone...

I've posted followup threads about the issue on this and nokia's board

so yeah, not perfection. I was too quick to be happy about this

I bought the white ones and decided to return them. I don't know if all flat cable earphones are like this, but in my opinion, it felt cheap and the white color of the cable made it look even cheaper. I also didn't like the overly large remote/mic, I wished it was around the size of the apple earphones control.
