Lumia 920 Black screen / Buttons light up / Touchscreen still works?

My Lumia 920 now has a black screen, the screen used to flicker often, but it isn't under warranty anymore. Wondering if the LCD screen is bad or if its a software problem? Everything except for the actual image is working. I'm more than willing to open it if need be. I'm back on my Windows 7 LG phone, so someone please save me as an upgrade isn't near.

Edit: Also please don't be a nokia support rep and tell me to try and soft reset it. Or even better an ATT rep who doesn't know how to soft reset it, but they want me to anyways. There is obviously a bigger problem or I wouldn't be here right now. It may need a new LCD screen, which is weird because the touchscreen still works. Also the proximity sensor looks clean, no dust.

me and many other people are having this issue on Lumia 920 after the recent update
this is a software problem I guess , maybe the upcoming nokia blue firmware will fix this up
there are some more bugs , for instance glance screen issues.
