Supershi80: yes exactly what I'm saying since my first message. But again, 925 and 1020 have a "bigger" update to Cyan (third block version number change) being tested on FI variants only for a month now.

And again, nobody knows does it mean no further denim FW update for this models (=fw of Cyan branch only) or not. When the 930 received officially gdr1 in October, it received a minor update to Cyan in the same time. So maybe it's the same for the older devices, gdr1 now with cyan update, and later a denim fw.

Anyway what people will perceive from the update is gdr1 on these devices. Denim, if it exists for a 1020, would bring more under the hood features I presume (drivers, BT feature, this kind of things)

Only reasonable stand on this is: wait and see :)

Whatever Lumia 830 could do, I'm pretty sure it is possible for Lumia 920,925 and 928. It is just that Microsoft is not going to give it so that owners of those devices would buy a new Lumia. Well, the question is, if they're still buying a Lumia. This is not a good way of pushing people to get new devices.

This is the fw version of a 925:

3051.50009.1424.0005

For me the third block is 1424 and between cyan and Denim doesn't change ;-)

Supershi80: you haven't read my first message entirely. The only 925 and 1020 which got updated are O2 branded. They didn't get the latest GDR1 but a previous version. I don't k ow why. But they have obviously a quick and dirty update.

Now in the MS table of updates, check Finland, 1020 and 925, you'll see that both have ALREADY a 1447 serie Cyan fw. This was rolled out beginning of December and LumiaHelp on twitter said this firmware was being tested ahead of Denim.

I believe this is the freeze bug fix firmware and that all unbranded 1020/925 will get it. I don't know why the branded versions (64GB for the 1020) have received an "obsolete" GDR 1 and a 1424.xxxx firmware.

Probably because the 1447 is still being tested and that they needed to send out "denim"(a GDR1 in fact) for some 925 and 1020.

So I'm sorry for the branded 925/1020 but latest firmware for 925 and 1020 is NOT the one you have, but the one available on Finnish country variant 925 and 1020.

I hope it's clearer now.

And as long as the 1447 firmware is not rolled out, I don't expect to see denim or GDR 1 on my unbranded 1020. 1447 contains a real difference (freeze fix) which requires REAL testing, hence the delay. The O2 variants received a quick gdr1 to make that update table look more complete to my eyes.

Truth is that no unbranded Pureview device (920,925,1020,1520) has received a "Denim" update (even only a GDR 1 update). The branded examples you mention are exceptions and not representative to my eyes.

So I repeat : wait and see ;)

Thanks, now I see that in Finland the firmware is different (an updated version). I hope, in the future, this firmware will be released to all other countries

By now, at the end, Denim upd is only a OS upgrade without a fw upgrade then is like the DP 8.1.1 upgrade (without any camera improvemens) :-(

Yep, I have checked the FI FW version. It is higher than all others for 1020. I hope that it will come to the rest of us sometimes soon :(. My 1020 has stopped freezing for now, I really do not know what I did, the only things I've done are: Removing bing weather, disabling background access for Calendar and other apps, installed weatherflow with lockscreen display and Cal as calendar both with background access

My gut feeling, the older devices won't get any camera improvements with the Denim update but would get them with W10 release. That assumption would be from the recent W10 TP, the default camera app is Lumia Camera 5+ with all Denim features (focus while video recording). If a tablet can get it, so can other phones running the OS. Microsoft might bake in the required code in the W10 phone TP
