Lumia 920 photo quality post black update

Hey guys, I just took some photos with my Nexus5 and lumia 920. On the lumia the photos have too much noise and I think are a little bit over exposed... Take a look and tell me what you think. The 4:3 are the Nexus and 16:9 the lumia.

Hopefully on the new update will have better results....

Edit: on the Nexus the photos are HDR+

What I notice most is the blue/green hue to the wall in the 920 photos.

It's not as bad as it was wwith Microsoft Camera. What camera app are you using? Ive found Nokia Camera to be rubbish especially with white balance.

I'm using now the MS camera app. I like the app but i don't like the green tint in the pictures. For me nothing has changed in the camera with this update :(

No, the photos are taken at the same distance. But they are 4:3 that's why are looks like closer.

Which begs the question why were the Nexus5 photos 4:3 and the 920's photos 16:9? You can set the 920 to 4:3 and in fact that is the setting which takes full advantage of the 8MP sensor....

Why does it have a green/blue tint? Why would anyone want that in their photos?

Nokias camera (Juha Alakarhu) guy denys it mate, he says its not a bug!! Can you believe that? If you follow me on twitter you can see my complaints to him. Twitter.com/turbolagged

What do you mean? That the 16:9 photos are not 8MP? And why the 16:9 is the default aspect ration? Sadly the Nexus 5 can take only 4:3 photos.

Sure but the 920 could have been set in the same aspect ratio for comparison.

Here are two photos of the same subject, taken outdoors in sunny conditions. I have cropped an area showing leaves and flowers. The first was taken with a Panasonic Lumix ZR1at 14MP, the second with a Nokia Lumia 920 using Nokia Camera at 8MP

Obviously there is significant colour diffence to the leaves. I'm not sure, however, which colouring is more accurate. But the Panasonic seems to show more detail and the image looks more three dimensional.

FIRST PICTURE TAKEN WITH 920 WITH UNKNOWN FIRMWARE, IT WASN'T BLACK SINCE IT LACKED SOME KEY FEATURES FROM THE UPDATE BUT CAN'T TELL IF PORTICO OR AMBER, SECOND PICTURE WITH ANOTHER 920 WITH BLACK. BOTH ON AUTO.

I don't know if it is just me but the picture quality after installing 8.1 seems worse than before. Outdoor pictures in bright light look blown out and soft, along with having that weird tint to them. Hope Nokia can push out their Cyan firmware update soon.

Nokia screwed flagship 920's camera at the very least.

I have to agree....I remember when I first got the phone, most of my images look really sharp and crip now i'm on black...everything look very processed..and weird and not sharp... I think it's truly terrible for all of us 920 users...we used to have great camera and now it's gone unless we downgrade. That doesn't work for most of us...

Hey guys, I thought my Lumia 925 was broken! but after reading you guys this happens to more people! ALL the photos I took get an awful yellow layer. They look horrible and I think it's getting worse with latest updates (I have 8.1 and all Nokia ones). WHY Nokia doesn't have any answer about this?
