Thinking about getting a Lumia 920 for AT&T. I'm currently using a Galaxy S3, and have used an iPhone 5 as well. So I had some questions about the device before I dive into Windows Phone.

1. I upload lots of videos direct from my phone to youtube. Is this possible on the Lumia, and if not is it painfree to due so through hooking the phone up to the PC? The reason I ask if because I know you needed to use zune before.

2. Does the camera record in 1080p?

3. Transfering files from phone to pc: Can I manipulate the phone like a hard drive?

4. I use spotify premium for music streaming. Is the volume nice and loud when hooked up to a car aux system? I remember the 900 would be very quiet through a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the iphone and gS3 would be screaming loud.

Thanks

1. You can connect your phone to PC and transfer pictures and video without any software. Drop and drag :)

2. Yes. Best quality I have ever had on a phone.

3. Same as answer 1.

4. Spotify is still not out yet for Windows Phone 8, it is being developed, so I don't know. But the music I play otherwise from the phone sounds good. You also have an equalizer when connected to the headphone jack.

No, this was't fixed with Windows Phone 8/Lumia 920. I have to crank my phone up to 25-30 volume wise if using a 3.5" or Bluetooth audio connection in every car I've tried.

My car stereos, aftermarket, have gain adjustments for each source or connected device, including BT audio and voice. I'm using default settings in the stereos and usually just leave the phone volume high in the car.

This isn't the case for everyone. I don't have to crank up the audio when using the headphone jack.
In fact, I always have to remember to turn the audio down because i keep my phone volume at 30 when I'm not using the 3.5mm connection.
I generally keep the volume around 15-20 for comfortable listening using the 3.5mm connection.

In a car, or with headphones?

Every windows phone I've ever used has (Focus, Quantum, 900, 920) has been super quiet when plugged into a line-in jack or over bluetooth audio. Headphones have been fine though.

IMHO the Dolby headphone enhancement is much better then the Beats on the HTC 8X. The EQs are great too, you can set a custom EQ or use the presets on the phone. Its not the loudest audio output, but serviceable. It not much quieter then my brother's iPhone5 in my car.

To answer your question about directly uploading to YouTube: yes, it is possible but you'll be looking at using 3rd party apps like MetroTube or SuperTube to get the job done. Your only other real alternative is to drag and drop this to your PC and upload it there (with a greater degree of control). Or write to Google explaining how they should let Microsoft release their dam YouTube app.

It's really strange, I keep the volume between 1(in a quiet place) to 10 with my headphones (akg 450), no special configuration into the audio settings (Lumia 920). It's certain, above 20 it's clearly too loud for me.

These "flagship phones" need to output digital audio to use with external portable DACs.

What is missing from my L920?

Is it hardware, firmware, WP8, Nokia?

Does the L1020 output digital audio through usb?
