Against all odds....
Whichever way you slice it or dice it, Nokia has gone from being a basket case to being directly compared with Apple about 18 months. This is some achievement in itself.
Meanwhile Apple has simply stopped innovating. Every iPhone since the original has simply included the latest technology advances that OTHER companies have made. There's been nothing, zero, zilch, nada from Apple itself. This is not sustainable.
Meanwhile Nokia have started to throw their engineering and innovation weight around. Pureview is a good example of something Nokia can do that is beyond the engineering or design capacity of Apple. And Microsoft have an OS than now makes Apple look so very old and tired.
I expect Apple to continue along the same path of gradual evolution, since I don't believe the company has the R&D skill or will to push new boundaries. Meanwhile I can't imagine what Nokia phones will look like in another 18 months.
