Lumia 925 with Mic problems - WP8 software issue

Sigh, unfortunately mine too is not working. A hard reset did not fix the problem. Sending to Nokia Care Center is not an option since my warranty already expired.

Here is my experience with the problem so far :
- The default camera app couldn't record any sound, the Lumia Camera app however could (but only in landscape mode)
- Phone call does pick up my voice
- Anything else such as Cortana and OneNote voice record would not record my voice at all.

Hey!
I had the same problem with my Lumia 925, unfortunately its not a software issue. I went to the nokia care, told them my problem. They replaced the microphone jack and the microphone (as they are both connected) inside the lumia. I think you can buy this spare yourself and replace. The part would cost you around 8Euros on ebay and you can find lot of videos on youtube on how to open up lumia. My lumia works perfectly now. No problems.

I hope this helps.

That's me. Exactly.

Hi, about the previous post regarding Lumia 925:
Is there an equivalent part for Lumia 930? I see in the parts markets and got this:

I'm not sure if this contains a microphone, only the jack for external headphones/mic.
Or maybe I need this one?

Thanks in advance for any support!

Looks like I'm the latest member of this club, because I'm now struggling to have my mic pick up my voice when either talking to Cortana, or attempting to record in portrait (like several of you have pointed out, landscape mode works perfectly).

I've tried inserting and removing my headphone jack, because I'd definitely qualify as a frequent user of headphones, but that isn't working for me. Because I bought my Lumia off-contract, it's not under warranty, so I'm left with either taking it apart myself (something I'm not at all eager to consider), or hoping a software fix gets to the bottom of this. I'm on Denim, and this is frustrating.
