Lumia 950, Alcatel 4s and HP Elite X3, how's the Creators Update treating you?

Lumia 950 XL, bought it used for a good price back in February, still had lots of bugs back then that have mostly been resolved in updates. Taking pictures can still be slow ('Adding finishing touches...') and sometimes Photos takes a while to see new pics. Gave up on Iris scanning, still far too slow and needs to be held awkwardly close, found it faster to enter my PIN.

Performance is disappointing, I moved up from a Lumia Icon and expected all around better performance, but Microsoft went too far with the QHD screen, I wish it had a 1080p screen. Noticeable animation and scrolling lag, Instagram for instance stutters compared to the Icon and all around fluidity is a far cry from WP7 and 8. Memory management seems off, even with 3GB of ram the FB app can't stay in memory (altho blame might lay mainly with the app developer on this one) and Edge tabs need to reload too often when multitasking. Groove music stutters while using the phone. Using Maps as navigation and playing music through Bluetooth in the car leads to lag and stutter central.

After reading comments on this topic, I can say that my Lumia 625 is performing pretty well on W10M CU, all things considering...

Creators Update breaks a very important function for me and that is the ability to receive traffic info from the Maps apps. When updating to CU the Maps app now just shows the estimated time it would take with no traffic and simply states at bottom "Traffic Info isn't available". I have reflashed back to AU and then to CU multiple times and it always fails. For now I have reg hacked the phone to stay on AU so my Maps works more reliably.

Since CU is nothing but bug fixes, I am not missing out on much.

Hey Steven, here's the fix for it:
Breaking news: Maps... is still broken - here's the workaround

My 950 is (sadly) not the same since the Creators Update. After browsing in Edge the whole phone freezes for 5 seconds

I worshiped my 950 since I got it couple years ago, ended up buying 2 extra models, one DS and one unbranded. It was great on creators update. But the 808 chip simply got the best of me. I've been using a 950XL daily for the past few weeks and the experience is so much better, believe it or not. The 810 is so, so, so much faster than the 808. Either that or all 3 of my 950's were bad..

Have 2 Idol 4s', one T-Mobile branded with a cracked back and one unbranded, unlocked, and brand new. It's so fast. Continuum is actually something I want to use. Dusted off my Display Dock and set it up at my parent's house and just have the cracked glass Idol 4s always there for basic stuff, which it's amazing at. Writing this post using Continuum and Edge with said Alcatel!

The 950/950XL and Idol 4s run amazingly on current production builds. Can't say for insider as I really don't want to WDRT again. If only the restore process was as painless as on iOS...

My Lumia 950 XL on the live ring is working better than ever. Interestingly, getting a second Lumia 950 XL fixed 50% of my issues, so some of which could be because of early factory flaws. Who knows...

While Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update mostly runs smoothly, there are a few oddities I take note of in my daily usage.

My main issue is with Telegram Messenger, whose chaseable notifications no longer takes me to the author of that message, but just opens up Telegram Messenger to whatever page I was on last time I left it.
I mostly blame this on the developer though. Since they released Telegram for desktop as a centennial app, the Windows Phone version has become increasingly buggier with poorer touch performance and the issue mentioned prior.

Then there is Skype, which has issue with keeping up with texts (SMSes) sometimes. If I want to make sure I see the absolutely most resent sent/received overview, I have to open the old Messages app (the original texting app in Windows Phone 8(.1) and Windows 10 Mobile.

Finally there is the issues with Bluetooth, which has certainly improved, but it is not as good as on the fast ring builds for Windows 10 Mobile, where a lot of work has been put into making it play better on various levels.

These three are the most noticeable issues I have experienced.

Of lesser issues is that the time sync has gone back a minute compared to my many other Windows devices, and sometimes the reminders in Outlook calendars are removed, but only on this particular device.

I have reported none of these issues in Feedback Hub, because I no longer believe that anything I give feedback on in Windows 10 Mobile will be taken into account by Microsoft.

I use my 640 twice every week... un-bloody-usable. I'm always glad I just use it for music (hence my original post). I would like to get a W10m device that actually works well. I really really miss this OS.

Don't do it. There is no real benefit on getting Insider builds as there are zero to none new features in new builds.

While there are no new features in feature2 builds (except new emojis) they include bugfixes. You could see feature 2 builds as newer cumulative updates than the ones which are available through Release Preview

I haven't spotted this quirk anywhere on the interwebs but for the past few days my x3 doesn't wake with the HP folio. It never did this on 14393 so I'm contemplating WDRT. But how can I force it to not update back to CU?
