Lumia 950XL Bugs + Defects

Battery life is disgraceful, 30% to flat on airplane mode within an hour. Every single ackground app turned off, wifi and bluetooth and mobile data turned off. Cortana and IR turned off. I have to turn everything off that actually makes this phone worth buying and even then I am getting no more than 6 hours a day out of it. May aswell just not have a phone, completely unsuable, wish I had kept with my 1020.

That doesn't sound right. Battery is pretty good on mine, get a day out of her with NFC and Hey Cortana turned off, everything else working inc bluetooth for my MS Band.

Sound like a hard reset is needed, or a replacement.

When I set up I used a backup and I run with data on and wifi also cortana and when I get home at night I still have over 80% battery (I am also running the latest insider build)

Hi, i have a few problems, are these common or do i have a bad device?
For one my lumia 950 XL doesn't record any steps in microsoft health nor in fitbit (or do i need a band for that)
When taking pictures my phone never makes a living image (still i can share still images as a 4 sec video which is just a still image, this should not be possible)
At last my pictures don't automatically upload to OneDrive, i have to open OneDrive and go to the camera uploads, when i then go to another screen it will just stop again (and give an error for the image it was uploading) only when i reopen the OneDrive camera upload it wil start uploading again. Now all my images have finally uploaded but there are stil some pictures left with the error i told you about and they keep that error.

Are these all problems at my side or is this a general problem? It is worth nothing that i didn't get the .29 version of the build so I'm still on normal.

Anyone noticed that sometimes their 950XL doesn't get detected by the PC when connected through USB?

EDIT: Nevermind it's my PC's USB 3 port that's screwed. It charges my phone but doesn't show it up on device manager whislt the USB 2 ports work just fine...

for me its the same... I mean its good... airplane mode eats only 3-4% during the night... not more.

I would like to describe problem(?) I have with Windows 10 in my JGC.
I got new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 this year and I love this car. I used to use Lumia 1520 with W8.1 and had very nice future- phone, connected to the car's BT was reading received SMS messages by voice to me and gave options to replay or call back. Everything by voice! I didn't took my hands of the wheel and eyes of the road.
After I got Lumia 950XL with Windows 10, I have nothing but problems!
Windows 10 has MAP protocol and this protocol activates Jeep Grand Cherokee's build in application. This applications informs you about arrived message. Also, it brings popup window on the car's display with option to(!) read this message from the screen(!). And this is when I'm driving!
"Read SMS aloud thru Bluetooth" future in Windows 10 moved from independent option in Windows 8.1 to be a part of Cortana now. Cortana and all associated services must be enabled for this future to work. "Read SMS aloud thru Bluetooth" future starts after JGC popup window comes up and announces about message again and does it work, asking permission to read it by voice. When I'm giving permission by command "read", Cortana doesn't "hear" me. Cortana doesn't "hear" any commands given thru car's microphone. And doesn't accept any commands thru local phone mic.
Also, Cortana drains battery very quickly, because all services like location, microphone is turned on.
My battery was drained in max 5-7 hours. I had to keep it connected to charger and phone was very hot.
After 5 days of trying, I returned phone and switched back to L1520.
But I like phone and Windows 10, but luck of this "modifications" MS made pushed me back to L1520.

My question is: After new updates came to 950XL, is it possible to disable MAP protocol in Bluetooth?
Is it possible to use "Read SMS aloud thru Bluetooth" future without Cortana?

Yesterday I noticed that my phone got consistently hot, and battery was draining much faster than usual. I then faced some other issues (possibly related):

- Can't download anything from the store app; it just sits in "starting download" forever
- Can't check for updates in the store app; spinning loading animation cycles forever
- Store app is the old version
- Low storage error on bootup
- Can't update from 10586.0 to 10586.29...phone is apparently already up to date

After doing a hard reset, everything except the 10586.29 update issue was resolved.

When you take a picture not all of them get saved with location info... Has anyone else noticed?

When I first got my phone photos were working well, but within a day or two I also noticed that location info is no longer saved. I am also getting the "Adding Finishing Touches" delay even if Living Image and/or Rich Capture are off.

Live tiles for emails are screwing up for me at the mo.

Unlinked my unified outlook as prefer to see my 3 email accounts separately. Now my icloud and google mail folders rarely show a live indicator on the tile. My icloud is currently showing a '2' new emails sign when there is nothing new. And my google is showing nothing, but i've just gone in and found an unread email. Frustrating, and this is after a soft reset. Don't want to have to use a unified email.

I just returned from a trip to Florida using the Maps App and can say that it worked really well. It gave me basically the same route as HERE did (some slight difference, I think?). It does NOT have the adjustable Speed (or, over-the-speed) Limit Alert, and this "NEEDS TO BE ADDED SOON", some of the very useful data on the display is rather small (needs to allow you to touch the data displayed to enlarge it), and I didn't find an easy way to zoom in/out. But other than those, soon to be added (I HOPE), issues - I was able to get where I wanted to go, and back (I even took a very obscured route back, and the app picked it up - as well as a newly finished road/route/improvement recently completed). But! the BIG THING I NOTICED was, that: even with; the Display ON; Bluetooth ON; Wifi ON, it still CHARGED, faster than it Discharged...(which is NOT the case with my old 920). So when I arrived to my meeting, I had a FULLY Charged phone...halla-friggin-luya!

So...I was playing around a little this morning (actually, I wanted to verify if the map app would detect the accident that had just been reported on the news), and Low-and-behold, there it was--- the Speed Limit Warning Setting!!! Whoooa!!!:

Maps App=> Hamburger (top-left corner) => Settings => Scroll Down => BINGO!!! (2 different settings: 1 for - over 50mph; 1 for under).

BTW: the app did show the accident, too!

I have only had my new phone for about two weeks. For some reason in the last four days, my battery life has dropped to about 2-3 hours from a full overnight charge. This simply will not work for me. I am not sure what it may be. I am thinking it may be defective. How can I check?

that is crazy. should just be a toggle left/right switch...
