Phone won't update after using recovery tool

I have a lumia 950 XL dual sim, the latest insider slow ring build finally caused enough issues to get me to jump ship, so I got the recovery tool and reset.

Now my build is 10586, the release from May, and I want to get to the latest release, 14393.something, so all my apps will start working again. Except it just hangs at 100% and refuses to do anything more. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Edit: After reading this over, i figured I should add what I have tried already. I have waited an hour, restarted my phone, tried it again.
It had most of the download saved, but still hanged after 10 minutes, did a soft reset, and tried again which is where it is now, still hanging.

Do you have a SD card installed? If yes, remove it and try again. Other than that, maybe a hard reset.

Thanks for the help, I did both of those options and it's now doing the preparing to install step.
