Lumia call quality issues?

Just got back from the att store with my mom and got her 925. However, the call quality sounds a bit muffled and tinny sounding. I have a 1520 and my call quality is fine but her 925 sounds sounds bad when on speaker.

Is this a common occurrence for this model with a low and tinny sounding speaker?

It does sound tinny (no more than other smartphones though) but not that low. Make sure you're not (or whatever case you have) covering the speaker (bottom back of the device). Does it have the same issue playing music through the speaker? Have you checked for updates (I believe Lumia Black is public now [I'm on Developer Preview]).
