Lumia Camera flashes even when I turned flash off

I've had a 1020 for a few months as a backup phone. I use the Lumia Camera, and I'm on the latest version of the official Windows 8 that Nokia released. I have camera flash off, yet it still insists on flashing my camera. How would I turn this off? I have flash set to never, but it still does it. I get the "Microsoft does that so the photos come out better" that's fine, but my settings should overrule whatever their presets are.

Is the flash, you are referring to, for the auto focus? I think you can turn that off too.

Thanks, don't know why I didn't check that. Now I'll look in to the differences with Manual vs Infinite focus.
