So I understand that firmware is carrier dependent after hearing about the icon, but what I don't understand is if you have a country variant I.E CV GBIE 000-GB shouldn't we be getting firmware update directly from Microsoft and also be getting them first

I understand the confusion. The update depends on carrier AND Microsoft. In my country (the Netherlands) phones locked on Vodafone got the update earlier than the country variant.
So probably there is not a logic explanation for the update release and the only thing we can do is wait.
Or you probably need an IQ of over 200 to see a logic in it.

Yeah cheers mate just with being unlocked phone wasn't sure who to ask @lumiahelp on twitter were basically useless.
The one thing I hate is waiting though

Yea, it is odd. When Nokia was still a thing, such delays with carrier free phones were assumed to be Nokia testing. Now, since MS have stated Denim is cleared for release, who is holding it up? Not carrier, not MS... I can only assume it is the CIA. ~
