For those of you having any issues or even if your uncertain of what firmware your actual using, I suggest you reflash your phone with the Lumia recovery tool.

My wife has a 928. Back in November I installed the PD to update her phone. The 928 received the denim update from Verizon. "denim". I got her a fitbit for Christmas and it wouldn't connect to the 928 that just received "denim".
I decided to reflash her phone to Lumia black and start from scratch. Come to find out, the update from Verizon did bring the 928 out of developer preview. It still had the developer firmware installed. Bluetooth le wasn't working (le doesn't isn't activated in developer preview).

Anyway, Lumia recovery tool flashed the most recent firmware and all is good. Feels like a new phone.

Just thought I'd share.

The essential element of your post is accurate - the Recovery Tool can fix problems. It wipes the device and re-flashes a downloaded (i.e., non-OTA) OS and firmware package. I have used it myself to fix some nuisances that appeared to be tied an OTA difficulty. The rest of what you are saying though is, I am sorry, rather confused. There is no such thing as a developer firmware for the 928 or any other Lumia. The DP only upgrades the OS. Personally, I also had no Bluetooth problems on either 928 running the DP.

Does using the Lumia Recovery Tool erase all the phone content (contacts, pictures, music) from the phone? My 928 have been acting up more since the recent Verizon and DP updates and I wanted to roll-back but don't know if I need to back-up everything. Thanks.

Either use that or download Nokia Software Recovery, download the Cyan ROM using Nokia Package Manager and flash it using Nokia Product Support tool. That way you get the vanilla OS and firmware from Microsoft's servers. Then if you wish, you can download Preview for Developers and install the latest OS all the way to 8.1.1 aka Denim. Once you're done updating, perform a hard reset and start fresh. First let the phone system apps to be updated and then start installing applications

Hi, I used the Lumia Recovery Tool tonight to reset my phone. But, my phone is getting stucked at "Apps - A few more apps still need to finish installing. It should just take another moment or two." I retried and get the same result. Please help! Is it bricked?

For how long it gets stuck there? Usually that step takes 5-10 minutes to finish

I will atempt my first ever Lumia reset tonight. I just want to make sure that using Lumia recovery tool and then restore will bring back Denim (i have it now), all the apps i have installed, same phone settings, same start screen arrangement, no app data loss, etc...? True? I have everything backed up to onedrive. Only text messages should be lost correct? Thanks for the answers.

1 If you now on denim you will get back on denim (but if you are on preview for developer you will loose these possible OS updates but you can them install again)

2 You may loose some (game) settings because not all game developers included this option in there apps.

3 If you now have apps which are pulled out of the store you will not get them back.

4 You will not loose text messages if you enabled the back up.

Mucis etc are not automatically backuped you have to do that manual on OneDrive or PC

Don't play any games, was wandering for app's data (tv series notifier, battery data,..)

Don't think so...

Doesn't it say in the messages setting that only one month old are backed up, or does it add up each month?

If you meant music, that is good to know. I have to manually copy that.

Thanks a lot man :) Better safe than sorry :D

Yep better safe than sorry.

Only photos and camera made videos can be auto synced (if you enable it)
So check all the folders on your phone to be sure you do not forget something.
