Mail and Calendar Live tiles do not work

So my wife just got a nice new dell w windows 10, however she uses a yahoo mail account. We were able to set her up via the yahoo account and the mail and calendar apps are synched to her yahoo account. The issue is that neither seems to have a functional live tile on the start screen. Is that because she isn't using a live.com account or is it something else?? Thanks!
