@TheWeeBear: Btw, I just realized today that you can forward/share anything from maps. Including address info. All MS has to do is integrate the "share" function from maps into contacts and voila!

in the interim, for those addresses i need to share most, (hardly ever), I've made them favorites in maps.

not sure anyone will really care but just an fyi...
Oh i'm sure some will care, sharing all the little goodies you find may enlighten other users mmbond. :)

I like that we can now see the status of the battery and how much is left in a percentage, but I'm surprised there are no apps to let us see battery info, I had a good look in the marketplace but no joy, I suppose it could be because battery status is Mango only and it only officially started to roll out yesterday developers could now make some battery apps.

I agree, i love battery saver. I just wish that it was pinnable to start. Bc sometimes I just want to use it just to save my battery until later when I need my phone more. Instead of setting it just when my battery gets low 20% I think is the activation percentage.

And does anyone know can you make new picture albums from the phone itself?

This is kinda annoying to me. Does anyone know how to fix this so the text comes out with the lockscreen?

ive noticed that when you have music player open (when music player commands are on lockscreen) then text comes out as normal. give it a try
if not, then its like some sort of fade in effect :/

I don't know about other phones but I have an optimus 7 and I found i can wake my phone with the home button. Previously the only way to do it was pushing the power button.

I noticed that also on my Optimus. This and the touch to take picture just resolved two of my biggest problems Pre-mango that didn't had to do anything with the OS. I have a crappy cover and I had to press the lock and camera button really hard for it to work so I end up taking the cover off to take pics. Not anymore, my phone is really fast now.

Now I have one question.

I saw this on a video, how do I make the search button wake up my phone?

You can check in and then edit it to add people. Works just like the facebook app.

Doesn't that take you to the mobile site? So, there is no way to do it from the UI of the phone?

I can't find out how to do it either...apart from opening the app but that is just worthless/pointless

When my Arrive rings it sounds the ringtone once and then continually announces who is calling. How do I turn the announcement off? I've got the voice notifications turned off in Settings, Speech.

Thanks!

Found the answer to my own question....in case anyone is interested as this activated itself with the Mango update and I had no idea it existed to begin with!

To turn on Speech for accessibility, tap Settings > Ease of access, and then turn on Speech for phone accessibility. This enables the following:

Talking caller ID for phone calls. When you get a call, your phone will announce the name or number of the caller

On Fb check in how do you create a new check in/place??

Just hit the little + at the bottom captaineye. :)
(Presuming you are using the built in facebook access from the 'Me' tile)

In the official facebook app do a search for your place then same principle.
The + at the bottom and add a name for your place / checkin. :)

Ooh, for a second I though they took it out. Local Scout is useless in my country, can I add stuff myself? I want to make it better.

I found that if you select "shuffle background" in pictures, the picture tile on the home screen cycles through all of the pictures that you've added to favorites. Also you can pin your favorites album to the home screen. One thing I noticed after mango: the picture I used as a background for pictures became a live tile and it would scroll up and down in the tile. But it just suddenly stopped and its just a static picture again. Do I need to do something in menu/settings to make it live again?
