Maximizing battery life

I'm not sure on this one as I've heard different claims. So well is it better for the battery to charge it only when is completely drained or is it better to charge it when it's not completely finished? For example I use my phone and discharge my battery to something like 75%. Now I have the chance to charge the battery. So is it better (and safe) to charge it now or should it be drained first and then charged?

Charge it now is better. The new battery's just need topping off. The worst thing you can do is let it discharge completely. That can actually ruin you battery. The best way to protect your battery is keep it from draining completely and keep it from getting hot.
