Messaging Live Tile - [ :-) ]

So here's something I noticed today, that you may or may not have noticed before.

We've all seen the what the messaging tile looks like when you have a notification for a new text message. It goes from [ ] to [ ;-) ] . It's cute/cool.

What I noticed today was something different. I have certain emails forward to my phone in the form of a text message - it let's me know that there's an incoming email I should really check. Today's email was from friends at work, and it was about the all important discussion of - where do we eat lunch today? I was in a meeting, so I wasn't able to check/delete the 15 text notifications of new mail. When I finally got around to checking, I saw that the live tile's smiley was [ :-O ] . This expression matched my facial expression when I saw the number "15". That little customization made me lol - it's the little things that make me love this shiny new OS.

It is a nice touch. It also changes to an unhappy face when a text fails to send.

And an =o face or something similar when receive a few texts in a row I believe.

Yeah I noticed that also lol. Doesn't happen to be much since most of the time I always check my messages. I don't like watching a bunch of numbers, it makes me anxious.

Ha - didn't know it did a sad face when it fails to send. Nice.

Yeah the only one I hadn't seen was the failed message one. I think it changes to :-o when you have 5+ unread messages. It is a nice touch and just adds to the quirkiness of the OS, as do the bouncy animations and transitions.
