Mic not work on 10581 for my 930

Are you on Build 10586.11? I've had problems with the mic not working in Cortana in prior builds but this last one finally fixed it.

And did you have the problem with the mic while in 8.1?

I'm not sure what the full extent of the mic problems are for others (I didn't try voice recorder or WhatsApp), but the mic would not work for Cortana. It does work now and so does voice recorder.

I also had problems with the mic on my 930. I noticed no sound in videos while on W10 preview. Reverted back to 8.1 and the video sound came back. BUT Shazam wasnt working, and also, when I was on speaker during a call, the other person couldnt hear me. So I sent the phone out to be repaired and they changed one of the microphones. Now everything works fine, and I can record with sound in W10 (10586.11)

So it should be hardware issue?

Okay, I just rolled back to 8.1 after trying the latest Camera update on W10M.
This is REALLY weird: Shazam, Whatsapp and voice recording don't work for me either on 8.1, but sound in Lumia Camera (both Dolby and non-Dolby) works and Cortana + Speech input DO work with me.

Same thing in W10M: I can give commands to Cortana, but I can't record sound in any other app (Lumia Camera can't record video).

exactly my situation. send the phone for repairs, because the (one of the ) mics are broken.
probably the camera in w 8.1 uses another microphone than the one in W10, and thats why it works

@Wizake: how long did it take for you to get your phone back?

In the meantime, I'll wait and hope for Windows Camera to get Dolby support soon (it should/it will). Like said here and in the "L930 2nd mic conspiracy theory" topic, it's a shame Microsoft doesn't comment officially about this hardware problem.

Well I asked Lumia help on twitter they did comment that it is a hardware problem in some Lumia 930's and asked to go get it fixed by giving it to nearest care. To get back the phone they say 14-20 working days . I gave mine and currently my delivery date is 16 December.
