Microphone on 830 a bit too sensitive?

The 830 seems to pick up even minute sounds from very far! I'm on the sixth floor trying to record my voice and there are children playing on the street. It picks up my voice just fine as it should but also somehow picks up every little detail-sounds of children, wind rustling outside, construction machinery sounds that are almost 500 meters away. I'm thinking, when exactly does the Dolby directional microphones kick-in? Or did I get that concept completely wrong and this is expected to happen?

I'm using the #1 Toolkit's recorder by the way. I tried another app called miniRecorder with ditto results.

Use Nokia Camera to record your voice make sure to enable directional sound recording, after you're done install Movie Maker, open your video, then immediately try to save it, you'll see Save as MP3 as an option click that and you have a fully directional sound.

Yes, that's suppose to happen, since you said Dolby Digital 5.1+. what that is, that recording device will record 5 points of sound information. 2-rear/2-front/1 center, this gives its surround sound. (just of it)

So try cutting on audio bass filtering to high and use directional recording. Anything that the camera side is pointing towards will be recorded.
