Microsoft Edge Starts with Google

Every now and then when I start Microsoft Edge on my AT&T Lumia 950 running build 14393.67 I am taken to google.com. This started happening only after installing build 14393.67. Prior to that it always started on a blank page.
As someone who doesn't want to use Google how do I stop this?
Thanks.

Open edge > tap on three dots (bottom right) > settings > view advanced settings > change search engine

I knew in 8.1 there were some countries in which bing were disabled by default due to poor local search databases (like Russia and neighbours)

I had the same problem. I had to load bing and then pin that to my start screen in order to stop Google from loading. For me it looked like
It was trying to load some ATT page that redirected to Google. Now I just use the pinned tile to open edge. Bing loads but I just use my bookmarks
to load sites or use bing to search.
