Microsoft is Right About Touch

And notice the same old arguments in the comments. The cave dweller techie lives! :)

Yeah, definitely wacko... no matter how many bloggers and journalists express how they're happy about the changes, surprised by how good the changes are, or admit they were wrong about the changes... people cling to their fears.

It's nuts, and I don't understand the arguments people make. I'm on Windows 8 right now on a non-touch laptop. I'm in the desktop where I belong, and it works EXACTLY like Windows 7... minus the start button, which I rarely used anyway on W7.

When I pick up my Surface, I'm in the new UI, and I love that too.

I've loving Surface also.

I do understand why Windows 8 seems a little out of place if you don't have touch available. But touch enabled peripherals will take care of that somewhat.

I wonder if some of them have actually tried it?

And some people are just stubborn, you'll never be able to get them to change their viewpoint.

Personal opinion obviously differs but I upgraded my Windows 7 install to 8 on a desktop HP computer with non touch monitor and I prefer it to 7. My start screen has a mix of W8 apps and legacy and using either is just as easy. Having snap makes it even better. Sending my mouse to either corner is now second nature so really I dont miss touch when moving from my tablet. Just takes people to make the system theirs and it works better, IMO.
