Microsoft Universal Keyboard

Has anyone else tried the new Microsoft universal foldable keyboard?
My 928 detects, says it paired and connected, but doesn't actually let me type. Not sure what is going wrong.
I know the keyboard works because it types fine with my Surface.

Don't you need update 2 with 8.1 for it to work? To my knowledge that is only available to 640-640XL-some later 5xx series, 73x and possibly 830.
