Microsoft's latest Scroogled ad

People who don't like MS won't like these ads.
People who like MS will either like the ads or feel afraid about the opinions of others.
People who don't have an opinion on MS will wonder and may try to get more information.

I agree with this. There is also the possibility that this could help Chromebook as much as hurt it, by giving it exposure. I imagine a lot of people heard about Chromebook for the first time through this ad. Google certainly doesn't market it much. And with the deluge of ads like this that Microsoft has been producing lately, people might stop taking them seriously, assuming they ever were taken seriously.

If people use Google products and services, but do so with full knowledge they their personal information is the product, then more power to them. As long as they are informed consumers making a clear and conscious decision it's all good.

even when they were outright a lie, apples I'm a mac ads made a lot of momentum for mac at windows vistas expense. These ads propagated many of the memes that people still believe when they call vista a failure. An anti Microsoft audience will hate these ads, calling them inflammatory or whatever, but there is a point that nongeeks don't understand...no WiFi limits the capability of a chromebook.
