Missing files!

I updated to windows 10 and I couldn't find any of my files. Eventually found them moved in a folder. Once I restarted my computer, all of the files were gone and I had more storage on my computer. These are files as in music, movies, and pictures. They are NO WHERE to be found. Anyone???

Did you back anything up? Is it in the cloud? On another device? Did you do an upgrade or a clean install? If you did a clean install without any kind of backup (physical, digital or virtual) they may be gone. Don't know where you got you music and movies, if they are part of a subscription you may be able to recover them. Backing up is always your best bet.

Did you delete any old accounts? The documents were likely associated with another account.

Did you upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1? I believe this is one of the issues when upgrading from 7.
